With Brazil staging the World Cup in 2014 and Europe in 2018, in accordance with FIFA rotation, it is planned that the 2022 World Cup will be held in Asia or North America.

Therefore, it is down to the nation which makes the best bid.

The oil and gas-rich Kingdom of Qatar is putting forward a strong bid, headed by Qatar 2022 Chief Executive Officer Hassan al-Thawadi.

Temperatures can hit 41 degrees Centigrade in Qatar in June and July so they have had to come up with state-of-art cooling systems to beat the heat, with matches being played in covered stadia.

Thousands of air-conditioning units will have to be used to keep temperatures down.

Good luck to Qatar, with their bid  for the 2022 Football World Cup!
